I think it is fair to say that in your lifetime you will never see an idol do something meaningful. In fact, you won’t see them do anything at all because they are simply the works of human hands. They can’t speak, see or hear because they have no breath in their lungs.
The year was 1948. Under a tent in downtown Modesto, 2000 chairs were being set up, arranged into rows. Later that evening thousands of people were gathering to hear a young Billy Graham preach the Gospel in his fourth ever crusade.
For Christians, life is a gift from God. Every person on the face of the earth was made by him and for him. The value we place on life comes from the fact that each person has been made in the image of God.
Many people like to ask the question, "what is the meaning of life?" For Christians, the answer is not a mystery. The meaning of my life and the meaning of yours is to bring God glory. In fact, everything that exists was created for this singular purpose.
The short answer is no. Why? Because no one is good. In Psalm 53:3, David said this about humanity: “They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.”
