It's that time of year! It's the season where everyone is making lists and checking them twice. The music changes, the decorations come out and for some reason I start to crave hot chocolate. Are you with me?
All of these things are great reminders that there is something different about this season that we're in right now. We are preparing for Christmas! We are preparing for this moment when we get to celebrate the good news that God sent his Son to earth. Jesus was born as a little baby in Bethlehem so that one day he could die for us and rise again. We all know that Jesus is the greatest gift given this season, but all too often the other things surrounding Christmas can seem to get in the way. Today I want to help you keep Jesus in front of your family as we prepare for Christmas. Here's a helpful list of ideas that I sent out last year...
Top Ten Ways To Keep Jesus First
Read part of the Christmas story each day.
Decorate with things that remind you of the Christmas story.
Put on some music that focuses on why Jesus came.
Make a list of the gifts Jesus has given you.
Find someone to bless with a special gift.
Find a place to serve.
Invite a friend to church.
Share the story of Christmas with people who don't know Jesus.
Remind your kids what this season is all about.
Worship together as a family and celebrate the greatest gift God has given!
