Read Esther 10
Mordecai became someone who the Jews both respected and loved. The reason why is amazing. Verse three of the passage said, "he sought the welfare of his people and spoke peace." The reason the people like him was because he truly cared for them. He did so both with words and actions. Sometimes we are good at one of those but not both. To truly do both we have to humble ourselves and seek to serve one another in love. Jesus is the ultimate example of this for us.
As I said at the beginning of this series, God is never mentioned in the book of Esther, but his presence is clearly seen. Every detail in the story mattered because God was working behind the scenes to create a beautiful masterpiece.
