Prayer Guide

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.Ephesians 6:10-11  (ESV)

The Belt of Truth

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17 (ESV)

  • Pray that your life would be defined by truth.

  • Pray that others would come to know Jesus who is the way, the truth and the life.

  • Pray that children would be able to discern truth in the midst of a culture filled with lies.

The Breastplate of Righteousness

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Matthew 5:6 (ESV)

  • Pray for you would desire a life that honors God.

  • Pray for a grateful heart because Christ has made us righteous by his blood.

  • Pray for others to become righteous through faith.

Shoes of the Gospel

And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

  • Pray for knowledge of the Gospel.

  • Pray for readiness to share the Gospel.

  • Pray for your life to be in sync with the teachings of Jesus.

Shield of Faith

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

  • Pray for child-like faith to trust God’s plan.

  • Pray for others to not fall into the trap of believing that they can earn their salvation.

  • Pray for faith to stand against the attacks of the enemy.

Helmet of Salvation

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.Acts 4:12 (ESV)

  • Pray for the message of Salvation in Christ to reach those who have never heard the name of Jesus.

  • Pray for our churches to be filled with rejoicing because of our salvation.

  • Pray that believers would be confident in their salvation.

Sword of the Spirit

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

  • Pray for a heart that discerns the work of the Spirit.

  • Pray that unbelievers would experience the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

  • Pray that the Spirit would fill you with joy and enable you to do the works God has prepared for you.
